CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are now invited for possible inclusion in the programme as Poster Presentations.

Only abstracts submitted on-line will be accepted.
  All abstracts must be submitted electronically before 6th June 2008.  It is possible to submit your prior to the 6th June 2008.  You are encouraged to submit your abstract as soon as possible in order to receive an early confirmation of acceptance.

The on-line abstract submission system is now open. Please click HERE to submit your abstract on-line.

If you are a first time user, you will be asked to register your e-mail address and correspondence details, and to create your own password.  Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation of your password.  You will also receive guidance notes for the preparation of abstracts, and the official Microsoft Word abstract template (maximum 250 words).  These can be downloaded from the on-line system at any time after you have registered and are also available by clicking HERE.


PUBLICATION
All accepted abstracts will be published in Cephalalgia provided that you have registered and attended the Congress.  For your abstract to be published in the Final Programme and Book of Abstracts, you MUST register and pay a registration fee by Monday 4th August 2008.


Opportunity
to Present a Review Lecture of Your Own Work
 
We are pleased to announce two special lectures at the 2008 congress.
 

Applicants who have completed a research programme or a PhD between September 2005 and June 2008 are invited to submit a
3,000 word manuscript with a review of their work (i.e. covering multiple studies) for publication in Cephalalgia, the Journal of the International Headache Society. Applicants are also encouraged to disseminate their experiences further to benefit the wider profession and therefore two successful applicants will each be invited to present a 25 minute lecture on their findings at the European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) in September 2008 in London.  

Applicants must submit a brief abstract of their findings via the on-line submission system and send their supporting manuscript by e-mail to the Secretariat.  When submitting an abstract, authors will be asked to indicate if they will be submitting a manuscript for consideration by the Committee.  Authors should then send their manuscript as a Word document to enquiries@ehmticongress2008.com.

The general aims of the lectureships are to:

ncourage the sharing of good practice and research in the migraine and headache field
A
ssist in the continuing professional development of others working in the field
► D
evelop and broaden research and clinical work being undertaken in the management of headache.  

The two successful lectureships will be awarded a total of £500 each.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
Each lectureship will provide a total of £500 which can be used towards conference registration, travel and accommodation.
 

Eligibility 
Applicants must have completed a PhD or original research programme during a headache fellowship between September 2005 and June 2008. Work still in progress on
Friday 6th June 2008 will not be eligible. Projects must be innovative, related to exploring an aspect of chronic and problematic headaches. The authors of any article accepted for publication in Cephalalgia must assign copyright to the International Headache Society for the full period of copyright by completing an International Headache Society Copyright Assignment Form. Awards will be made to individuals attending and presenting at the European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) in September 2008 and cannot be used to support other activities.  The award will be paid once the author has delivered their presentation at the Congress and a valid receipt for any payments made has been received by the Secretariat. The decision of the International Scientific Advisory Committee is final and no correspondence about their decisions will be entered into.
