SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

The Scientific Programme will consist of the presentation of original papers, named lectures, poster sessions, satellite symposia, debates and two special teaching courses.   Please click HERE to download a copy of the Programme Overview.

TEACHING COURSES
Two teaching courses will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 4th September. The courses are offered free of charge to delegates who registered for the main Congress. There will be an opportunity for interaction with the faculty who will be drawn from our International Advisory Board and speakers attending EHMTIC 2008.

Teaching Course I entitled “Diagnosing and managing difficult headache disorders” will be aimed at neurologists in training and the recently qualified, in addition to doctors with a special interest in headache. Learn about diagnosing and managing difficult primary and secondary headache disorders. All learning will be interactive and contextually around cases.

Teaching Course II entitled “Scientific Basis of Headache” will be aimed at neurologists in training, graduates of neurology programmes and other clinicians. Participants attending this course will learn about the pain pathways, pain mechanisms and the role of drugs in relation to headache and migraine. This teaching course will be interactive and include discussion and debate.

Participants will find both courses exciting and informative.

If you are only attending one of the teaching courses and are not registered for the full Congress, the cost to attend is £75.00. Please register in advance by completing the relevant section of the attached registration form.

POSTER SESSIONS
Scientific posters will be displayed for the duration of the Congress.  Delegates will be given the opportunity to participate in this important part of the scientific programme during designated Poster Sessions where authors will be available for discussion.  Prizes will be awarded for the best poster presentations. 

ONSITE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Internet access will be available during the Congress.  A Wireless LAN facility will also be provided, details will be provided in the final joining instructions.  There will be an internet café located in the Exhibition Area for the duration of the Congress. 

Scientific Posters

ACCREDITATION
Continuing Professional Development accreditation for UK Physicians will be sought from the Royal College of Physicians of London when the programme has been finalised. Continuing Professional Development accreditation will be sought by the EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (EUMS)) in order to allow participants to validate the credits obtained at this meeting in their European home
.

PUBLIC PROGRAMME

Similar to those organised at our previous symposia, people with migraine and other forms of headache will be welcome to attend this session which will take place on Sunday 7th September 2008 from 14.00 to 17.00 hours.  Delegates attending the main congress are also encouraged to attend the Public Programme.

The official language of the Congress is English.
